I met Preston Koeger at a local coffee shop at Pike Place Market. He is a person I have seen at the Market many times, and he is easy to spot due to his very flashy clothes. But today we had coffee together at Local Colors, and it was quite an experience. We forget that our many of our elders have led amazing lives, and Preston is right up there with the best of them. As he tells the story, he entered the army as a Private First Class, and he left 31 years later as a General Officer. Then he spent many years at Paramount Studios doing voice over; singing for actors (and a few actresses) that could not carry a tune. So if you see Preston at the Market, offer to buy him a cup of coffee. He just celebrated his 102nd birthday on 11 March 2012.
